Toyco Mattel and FremantleMedia Enterprises have sewn up a US broadcast deal with Disney XD for its action-adventure CGI series Max Steel.
The series is based on the Mattel boys action-toy franchise and will bow in more than 100 territories in Spring 2013.
Additionally, FremantleMedia has confirmed sales of the series to Cartoon Network and Boing in Italy and Spain, Canal Panda in Portugal and a major multi-territory deal with Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific.
In addition to US carriage, Disney XD will broadcast the series in Central and Eastern Europe, South and Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and Turkey.
Max Steel follows the adventures of teen Maxwell McGrath and his alien friend Steel and is co-produced by Mattel and FME, with Vancouver-based Nerd Corps Entertainment handling the animation.
