Dog With A Blog Poster Released. Premieres November 4 on Disney Channel

Disney Channel have officially released the poster for their upcoming new show 'Dog With A Blog'. Blake Michael (Lemonade Mouth), who plays the character Tyler James in the show tweeted on his official twitter page (August 31 2012):

JUST RELEASED poster for my new show Dog With a Blog!!! can't wait for u to see!!

Dog With A Blog is set to premiere November 4 2012, with a special sneak peek of the series beforehand on October 12, 2012 right after the New Disney Channel Original Movie Girl vs. Monster.

In Dog With A Blog, Tyler and Avery are new step-siblings. Tyler is popular and charismatic and seems to get by solely on his looks, and Avery is smart, socially responsible and despises guys like Tyler. However, the biggest adjustment for the newly blended family comes with their new dog, Stan. He’s smart, a bit of a troublemaker and loves his new family, who must keep his marvelous ability a secret. Stan’s canine point of view, whether in the home, in the yard or on his blog, helps the kids navigate both their new sibling situation and ultimately, becomes the tie that binds the family of six (Tyler, Avery, little sister Chloe, Mom, Dad and Stan). Even though he talks and likes a lot of “human” things, Stan is still pure dog. He chases his tail, barks at mailmen, ardently approaches poodles and is not so wild about cats.

Dog With A Blog was created and executive-produced by Michael B. Kaplan, who most recently created and executive-produced Disney XD’s I’m in the Band. His credits also include Frasier for which he received an Emmy Award, Roseanne, Girlfriends, for which he received a BET Comedy Award, and Doogie Howser, M.D.  The pilot was directed by Neal Israel (Kickin’ It, Zeke and Luther, Even Stevens) and produced by Leo Clarke (Pair of Kings).

'Jessie' and 'Austin & Ally' are Crossing Over!

[Via Fanlala.com...]

We love it when our favorite Disney universes collide - it was a match made in heaven with ‘Shake It Up’ and ‘Good Luck Charlie,’ and now it looks like two more of our favorite shows will be having a little run-in.

Peyton List, who plays Holly Hills in ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ and is known for her role as Emma Ross in ‘Jessie’ just tweeted some fabulous news recently.  It looks like ‘Jessie’ and ‘Austin & Ally’ will be sharing some screen time together!  Peyton tweeted:

“Had a great day rehearsing with the Austin & Ally cast for our crossover episode! Jessie + Austin & Ally= awesomeness!!”

This sounds like it will be an amazing episode!

We don’t know much else following the announcement, but we have a feeling the crossover episode between ‘Jessie’ and ‘Austin & Ally’ is going to be huge - think of all the stars on screen at one time!  Now that rehearsals are over, we hope that filming begins soon.  Could you imagine if the Ross kids all jam with Austin and Ally’s band?  It would be the concert event of a lifetime.

We love it when Disney Channel brings together our favorite shows for an episode.  What other characters would you like to see on screen together.  Let us know!

Update August 31 2012:

On their official twitter page, the writers of Austin & Ally tweeted:

Shooting on the JESSIE stage this week. Sure wish we were back in Miami. Fake New York is freezing.

Exclusive: Disney XD Announces Premiere Date for Crash & Bernstein

[Via Wired.com/GeekMom...]

Disney XD is dipping its toe into Muppet-esque territory. Of course, the entire collection of critters has been one big happy family ever since the House of Mouse bought up Jim Henson’s outfit back in 2004. Since then, those handcrafted creatures have cranked out TV specials, direct-to-video releases, and last year’s all-star theatrical extravaganza, The Muppets.

Could it be time for puppets to make a primetime TV comeback?

Earlier this month, Disney XD announced plans to air Crash & Bernstein, a buddy comedy that will combine live-action and puppetry. Now, the show doesn’t have any “official” Muppets. However, it does have a serious Muppet vibe to it. Maybe that’s because it was created by Eric Friedman, known for his work on the puppet-centric show Crank Yankers, and will feature Sesame Street and Muppets performer Tim Lagasse as the voice and the hand behind Crash.

The main character is Wyatt Bernstein (played by Cole Jensen), a 12-year-old living with three sisters in a house overrun by all of their girlie things. When Wyatt creates Crash at a local “Build-A-Bestie” store, he finally gets the brother that he always wanted. Well, that’s assuming he wanted a puppet for a brother. How exactly Crash comes to life is a whole other mystery that will (hopefully) be answered in the pilot episode. Frankly, it sounds like a few nightmares that I’ve had. However, Crash isn’t creepy. He’s actually very funny — and very loud.

After a few weeks of waiting, Disney has given GeekMom the exclusive on this upcoming show’s premiere date and another little video tease (see above). Set your DVRs and your eyeballs, people. Crash & Bernstein will be coming to Disney XD on Monday, October 8, 2012, at 8:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

In the meantime, look for Disney to ease the duo into your daily routine. On Friday, August 31, Crash and Jensen will host a Disney XD Fall Preview special. On Monday, September 17, click over to DisneyXD.com/Crash and check out “Crash This Site,” a cool little freebie that will allow viewers to watch Crash destroy any website via a click of the mouse and a bookmark installed on your web browser. A week later, the website will launch additional games and activities, and the premiere episode, “Crash Lands,” will be available as a free download on iTunes. Also, look for a few sneak peeks from October 1-5, every night on the Disney Channel.

'Jessie''s Karan Brar Spills on "Older Sister" Debby Ryan!

[Via Teen.com...]

Well, isn’t he a cutie? We’re kinda jealous of Debby Ryan that she gets to hang out with Karan Brar on the set of Jessie every day. Karan plays Ravi, one of the kids Jessie nannies for, so obvs we had the cutie tell us what he’s learned from Debby, what Debby’s really like on set, and what it was like behind-the-scenes of his new movie, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days. Oh, and we also got Karan to answer our infamous tiny rhino/giant hampster question. His answer is kinda hilar.

Disney, Tracking Historic Summer Win, Talks Children’s TV

Disney's Paul DeBenedittis (Photo Above)

As we near the end of summer, Disney Channel is slated for a historic ranking as the #1 cable net in total day in total viewers. For the 1st summer ever, the net will rank as the #1 net in kids 2-11. CableFAX spoke with Disney Worldwide’s Paul DeBenedittis, svp, programming, scheduling, multiplatform, acquisitions and co-productions, on upcoming programs and the market of children’s TV.

Disney has done really well this summer. What should we expect in terms of fall programming?

We don’t focus on seasons or cycles as we program for our audience 365 days a year. We have a series premiere (“Dog With A Blog”), a Disney Channel Original Movie (“Girl Vs. Monster”) and an original event (“Make Your Mark: Shake It Up Dance Off”) this fall, as well as new episodes of our hit Disney Channel series (“Jessie,” “Austin & Ally,” “Good Luck Charlie,” “Shake It Up” and “A.N.T. Farm” and our animated hits “Phineas and Ferb” and “Gravity Falls”) — and we also have a volume of new content across our multiplex including Disney Junior (“Sofia the First,” “Doc McStuffins,” “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” and “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse”) and Disney XD (“Crash and Bernstein,” “Lab Rats,” “Kickin’ It”).

You have been in cable for two decades. People say now is the Golden Age for cable. Do you agree? And why? Is now also the Golden Age for children’s TV?

I felt I was in the Golden Age when I first started and I feel the same way today. Cable allows us a unique opportunity to connect with our audience in a branded, connected way, 24/7. The Golden Age continues as we now have more platforms to serve viewers, more opportunities to find creative ways to fuel our brands, to connect to our audience in engaging and entertaining ways, while at the same time maximizing and monetizing these opportunities so we can continue doing it.

What challenges do children’s TV providers face and how can they overcome those challenges?

I’m not so sure the challenges are much different than general entertainment, where I spent most of my career before coming to Disney. We are always looking to stay connected and relevant with our audience as new technology emerges. We are always looking for creative ways to tell stories that are unique and strategies that evolve as our audience evolves and their taste shifts. Most of all, we respect our young viewers, we know they’re smart and just as savvy as their parents were when they were kids.

Inside Actress Debby Ryan's Closet

[Via www.wwd.com…]

Debby Ryan, star of the Disney Channel's "Jessie," may choose footwear looks that run the gamut, but she leans toward one favorite style: boots.

"I'm a huge fan of them. I like a good vintage cowboy or combat boot," said the actress.

Ryan, 19, plays the lead role in the network's comedy, which is currently shooting its second season, set to air this fall. She also has played characters in the Disney series "The Suite Life on Deck" and the original movie "16 Wishes," in which she sang the theme song. (Music is Ryan's second love, after acting. She currently runs a music blog, through which she conducts interviews with musicians, and she aims to launch a record label in the future.)

And while Ryan and her on-screen character share a few fashion commonalities, she described their signature styles as distinct — and from opposite coasts.

"We both love vintage silhouettes, but [Jessie] is in New York and always in a blazer and heels. I try to be a bit more sensible. I'm really into personalizing or customizing looks," said Ryan, who resides in Los Angeles.

So what does that mean for her personal footwear choices? "I bought combat boots at an Army surplus store and now I'm going to stud them," she said.

Here, the star sounds off on her favorite footwear shops, the best looks for the beach and how she and her TV persona share a love of boots.

Pairs owned: 50 to 60

Favorite brands: "I kind of live in a dream world. I like footwear at the top of the [price] spectrum and at the bottom. I love a Tory Burch wedge for every day. I love Sam Edelman. I have some Vans and Converse Chuck Taylors. I like Charlotte Olympia's loafers, and I want some YSL Tributes."

Brands you wear on set: "[My character], Jessie, is really into tall boots, so what we like doing is hanging necklaces from the boots. She also has been into short booties lately. She wears Splendid, Elizabeth & James sandals and has an Alice & Olivia pair."

Go-to looks for the red carpet: "I am a fan of the short black bootie, and I especially like [the ones with a] thin stiletto. I have some from Zara and BCBG."

Favorite style for in between takes: Flats from Toms Shoes or Sam Edelman

Best workout look: "Nike Frees. I have several different styles. They have to match my workout outfit."

Weekend wear: "Puma [casual] shoes, or I love a solid wedge by Tory Burch or Toms if I'm running around."

Go-to beach style: "Toms to get to the beach or a flip-flop with an anklet. If I'm having lunch on the boardwalk, maybe a moccasin bootie."

Last pair purchased: "I bought a pair of green suede ankle booties."

Oldest pair owned: "Steel-toed combat boots I got at the Army surplus store."

Best shopping destinations for shoes in Los Angeles: "I really like Zara because it always has good staples and statement pieces. I like Aldo as well. And Barneys is my dream — I swoon over it."

Celebrity whose style I most admire: Emma Stone. "She always looks classy without looking like she's trying too hard. She is a funny girl and also beautiful."
