"Wizards of Waverly Place" stars Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone, Maria Canals-Barrera, David DeLuise and Gregg Sulkin will return along with star and executive producer Selena Gomez.
Now, Zap2it has even more details for you! First of all, the reason David Henrie's character Justin won't be in the special? He's already got plans! During the "Wizards" filming dates between Oct. 22 and Nov. 10, Henrie will be filming a movie, and the conflicting schedules were too difficult to rework.
Alex (Gomez) may benefit from not having her protective older brother around, though... because she's getting a new love interest! Producers are currently casting for Dominic, a hot Italian guy who encounters Alex as she tries to prove herself as a wizard. Oh -- did we mention that he, too, is a wizard?
Described as "handsome and mysterious," Dominic is "heartthrob, model good looking." "Did we mention that he should be really, really, handsome?" the casting directors add. Uh, yeah. You did. Mason (Sulkin) definitely has some competition here -- but we think he's got a leg up in this case, because while Dominic seems sweet, he's got anther side to him that Alex might not particularly like.
They're also casting the major comedic role of Carmela, Jerry's (Deluise) cousin from Italy. The actress cast will hopefully be fluent in Italian. And by the way -- they're filming in California, not Tuscany. Gotta love movie magic!
