Disney Channel Launch Good Luck Charlie Week

From Monday January 14, Disney Channel are airing back to back episodes of Good Luck Charlie every night for their programming block titled 'Good Luck Charlie Week.' The week begins with the Good Luck Charlie DCOM "Good Luck Charlie, It's Christmas" followed by back to back episodes every night leading up to Sunday nights special event which is the Season 3 finale.

In the Season 3 finale titled "All Fall Down" which airs Sunday January 20, Spencer gets the opportunity to start college in Boston a semester early, and Teddy encourages him to go, not realizing how hard a long distance relationship can be. Meanwhile, Amy starts an online mommy blog, and Bob accidentally releases termites into the house.

Additionally, Disney Channel have launched a new Good Luck Charlie online game which can be found at: DisneyChannel.com/GoodLuckCharlie.

NBA All-Star, Chris Bosh, is set to guest star in the JESSIE episode titled “Say Yes to the Messy Dress” in which Jessie offers to introduce the kids to NBA All-Star Chris Bosh, who’s in town to play one of Luke’s favorite local basketball teams at the park.  Determined to make sure his beloved team wins the game, Luke takes Bosh’s lucky socks, which the superstar hasn’t washed since the 10th grade. Meanwhile, a famous designer sends Emma a dress to review on her fashion vlog.  However, things get complicated when Jessie accidentally damages the dress.

The episode airs January 18, 2013 on Disney Channel.

Farm, Chyna finds herself struggling to write a song for her presentation. So, of course, she decides to lock herself in a recording booth until she comes up with the perfect song. After accidentally falling asleep, Chyna takes a dream journey back in time where she becomes famous African American music icons from the past: Aretha Franklin (in the photo above), Janet Jackson, and Ella Fitzgerald. Inspired by her dreams, Chyna writes a new version of the A.N.T. Farm theme song, “Exceptional,” with lyrics that pay tribute to the great women who came before her.

Disney Channel "Shake It Up" Star Zendaya Coleman To Visit Art Van Furniture Stores In Novi, Lakeside And Lansing The Weekend Of January 26-27

Ross Lynch stars as Austin Moon on Disney Channel’s hit show, AUSTIN & ALLY. Austin, an overnight Internet sensation is trying to make it big in the music business. With the help of his friend Trish De la Rosa (Raini Rodriguez) who manages Austin, which sometimes backfires no matter how hard she tries. Finally signed to a record label, Starr Records his dream is about to come true, along with his good friend Ally Dawson (Laura Marano) who writes all his songs. Ally works at her fathers music store Sonic Boom, but is too shy to sing herself. Calum Worthy (Dez) is Austin’s nutty best friend and is always getting Austin and himself into trouble.

ASSIGNMENT X sat down with Ross at Radio Disney’s N.B.T. Kick-Off Concert held at Hollywood and Highland recently and talked about the show and his real life music career with the band R5, which consists of Ross, his siblings Riker, Rydel, Rocky and along with their best friend Ratliff, are the five R’s of R5. Recently they were signed to Hollywood Records.

ASSIGNMENT X: How did you get the role on AUSTIN & ALLY?

ROSS LYNCH: Just like any other job you just go through a lot of auditions and hope for the best.

AX: You do play a lot of instruments, even on the show?

LYNCH: Yes, I play guitar, bass, drums and piano and a bit of ukulele and I’ve recently picked up the violin, but it’s not my best instrument. (Laughs)

AX: Do you write your own songs?

LYNCH: Not for the show, mainly because I am focusing writing songs for my band R5. Although I haven’t written many because I’m just so busy with the AUSTIN & ALLY schedule, but hopefully in the album that will come out in early 2013 I will have a song on there.

AX: What process do you use when you write the songs?

LYNCH: Whatever comes first. It could be a cool guitar lick or a cool melody or even a cool line…whatever comes first and you just try to add on to it and grow it into a song.

AX: Anything special that the band does before going on stage?

LYNCH: I basically just go crazy. Just push my brothers around and kind of wrestle and then we get in a huddle and we put our hands in and we say, “Ready, Set, Rock.”

AX: Have you ever had any weird fan encounters?

LYNCH: I was in a hot tub with my brother and a fan came up and thought my brother was me. And they were going “oh my gosh your Austin on AUSTIN & ALLY and I was like no, actually that is me. And they were like “no it’s him.” And I was “no seriously it’s me.” And finally I ended up singing for them and they finally believed me.

AX: Do you consider yourself like a boy band even though your sister’s in it?

LYNCH: We are not actually a boy band, we’re like a band, band. We play all the instruments. So I feel like out biggest inspiration is like McFly, and Fallout Boy, kind of like the more band type stuff.

AX: What was the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you on stage?

LYNCH: Nothing really embarrassing has happened to me on stage, but it didn’t happen to me but one of my brothers Rocky was rocking out pretty hard and he hit his head on his guitar and his head started bleeding. But that wasn’t really awkward, it was kind of cool…it was like Rock N’ Roll you know! That was kind of a fun moment!

AX: The music that you do with the band is totally different then what you do on AUSTIN & ALLY?


LYNCH: In a way. AUSTIN & ALLY is more sense and more kind of poppy, but for our band it’s very guitar driven and it’s more rock.

Disney Channel Open Casting Call For Ashley Tisdale movie 'Cloud Nine'

Blondie Girl Productions in association with Salty Pictures and Hollywood Farms will begin shooting in January, 2013 on a new Disney Channel Original Movie titled "Cloud Nine". The project is a snowboarding themed telefilm. The local Utah Disney casting directors have scheduled an open casting call for featured and general background performers in Salt Lake City. Snowboarding experience is helpful but not required. All types are needed, and there is no previous experience required to be cast. Filming will continue throughout February, 2013.

"Cloud Nine" tells the tale of teen snowboarders competing in the Summit Valley Fire & Ice Games. Will Cloud is a former snowboarding ace who gave it up after injuring himself, and due to his mother who lost her husband to cancer and is afraid of losing Will. Kayla Morgan is the daughter of the wealthy Summit Valley Ski Resort owner and principal investor in Swift Snowboard. The two develop feelings for each other, all the while overcoming all the odds to become the best snowboarders in Summit Valley.

Directors Guild of America DGA Award winner Paul Hoen will direct "Cloud Nine" from a teleplay written by Justin Ware of Hollywood Farms. Rewrites on the script have been done by by Don D. Scott, who previously collaborated with Hoen on the Disney Channel Original Movie "Let It Shine". Paul Hoen has directed the Disney Channel movies "You Wish!", "The Luck of the Irish," "Tru Confessions," "Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-Off," "Read It and Weep," Jump In!", "The Cheetah Girls: One World," "Dadnapped," and "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam". He has also directed episodes of the Disney series "Even Stevens," "Jump In!", "Jonas," and "Zeke and Luther".

Two-time Teen Choice Award nominee Ashley Tisdale is executive producing "Cloud Nine" under the banner of her company Blondie Girl Productions. Tisdale runs the company with her older sister, actress Jennifer Tisdale, and executive producer Jessica Rhoades. Blondie Girl Productions is also set to produce the Disney Channel original Movie "Adventure Quest," and a pilot for ABC Family titled "The Keys". Disney Channel & Disney XD Stars To Sign Autographs In Galveston Dec. 22, 29

Christmas will come a little bit early for "tweens" visiting Galveston this month, as the island hosts two very popular TV stars.

Spencer Boldman from Disney XD's "Lab Rats" and Jake Short from Disney Channel’s "A.N.T. Farm" will be in Galveston to sign autographs and take pictures with visitors Dec. 22 and Dec. 29, respectively.* The stars will be on the island for "Magical Parties with Disney" hosted by the Galveston Island Convention & Visitors Bureau and Radio Disney AM 1590.

The parties will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. the last two Saturdays in December at downtown Galveston’s Saengerfest Park, located at the corner of Strand and 23rd streets.

• Dec. 22 – Spencer Boldman from Disney XD's "Lab Rats" will sign autographs and take pictures with visitors while the Radio Disney AM 1590 Road Crew entertains the crowd.

Disney Channel have released a behind the scenes look of the Austin & Ally and Jessie crossover special, 'Austin & Jessie & Ally All Star New Year.'

In the episode episode, Austin, Ally, Trish and Dez have trouble getting through New York’s crowded Times Square on New Year’s Eve, but Jessie comes up with a plan to get them to the stage in time to see Austin perform — and ultimately have him record one of her songs, natch. Bonus: The episode includes a duet by Debby Ryan and Ross Lynch.

"All Star New Year" will premiere on Friday, December 7, part of Disney Channel's second annual Fa-la-la-lidays programming block.
